Silver Bullion

Round, Coin, Ingot or Bar

Silver Bullion can be in a round, coin, ingot or bar form. It is the form of silver traded for investment purposes based upon the silver content.
The idea was to produce silver coins which were guaranteed to be at least one ounce of pure silver. For example, The Canadian Maple Leaf is refined to 99.99% purity.

The United States of America started issuing a one ounce silver eagle bullion coin in 1986.
Now there are many countries which issue silver bullion coins every year, mostly in countries where silver is mined.

The value of the silver bullion is based more on the metal content, however, low mintages are also very appealing.
Most bullion coins have a mintage of less than 100,000 and mintages of under 10,000 are not uncommon, so this only helps make them more valuable.
