The Peace Dollar was minted between 1921 and 1928, and then again from 1934 till 1935.
It was to Commemorate the 1918 armistice after World War I.
The Peace Dollar is an Art Deco design of a young lady Liberty facing to the left.
On the other side is an eagle with its wings folded.
The earlier peace dollars which were struck in Philadelphia in 1921 had a much more detailed higher relief of the design
than those which were struck in later years with a much lower relief.
Millions of Peace Dollars were stored in Treasury vaults, so many of these peace dollars are readily available in uncirculated condition.
They range in value from $15 to $2,000 depending upon the date.
